Archeology in Brooklyn Heights: Brooklyn, NY

While surveying an 1840's building for a planned gut renovation, we uncovered the original solid brick cistern to the building in perfect condition. The 12' diameter x 12' deep cistern was designed to collect storm water from the roof to be used for washing. While it was mostly filled with building debris, it did turn up some interesting bottles. We are proposing to utilize this relic as a large fish pond.
